im my 96 s14 with an rb20det, i cannot get the coolant temp gauge to read. im almost positive the blu with blk trace wire is the one that i need to use to splice into my auto meter temp gauge. so i did that and it dosnt read, the gauge wont move even after warming up the engine. then there is another blu/blk wire right near the first plug that has the blu/blk wire. when this is spliced in, the gauge max's out even when cold. i replaced the sensor with a brand new unit for a ka24de. PLEASE HELP, its near summer time and i need to know what my car is running at so i dont cause damage. thanks in advance guys!!!

My temp gauge actually just stopped working on me the other day. I ordered a Autometer to replace it and was hoping to figure it out from there.

Sorry can't help ya yet. And I look at the Pinout and didn't see anything for coolant temp or temp signal

porkchop, so i connected the blu/blk rb wire to yellow ka wire and the gauge is still inop? as i mentioned the sensor was replaced. even if the cluster gauge is inop, i tried using the wire from the autometer gauge and its still inop. you said the blu/blk wire is for the cluster, but is the yellow wire on the f3 connector definatly the correct one to splice into? according to the pinouts i found when i searched it is correct....

i got the gauge to read, but it warms up extreeemly fast, and stays between 225-250, 250 is max hot on gauge so im wondering if it would go higher? do i have to use the autometer temp sensor for the gauge to read right?

you cannot use the nissan sender for an autometer gauge.

you must use the autometer sender.
