I got my rb20 running but it idles too high(1500rpm). I've tried searching but didn't find much. Anybody have this problem. It runs good and strong. It's pretty much stock except for a walbro fp, 3" exhaust, and a blitz air filter.

any help is appreciated

Hmm did you check for vacuum leaks? Usually you can hear a hissing sound from the engine bay if there's a leak. Also I'm assuming you know this but the engine will idle much higher until it's thoroughly warmed up. Mine idles around 1400 for a while until I drive it a good bit.

Let's see what else...Your TPS may need to be adjusted. And maybe if the engine temperature sensor stopped working the car would think it's always cold and idle high all the time. Does your temp gauge work?

also depending on how long you have had it running.the ecu will run in safe mod for a while. till it "learns " what is going on. alot of times the af gauge won't work till the car has been driven for a few days. if this doesn't work then set the ting and idle. there is a screw on the back of the plenum. on the air idle circuit.

I 'm using autometer guages - boost, oil psi, and water temp. I definitely need to get an AF gauge. I kept the 240 cluster. I drove it a good bit yesterday and the temp runs around 180°. It still idles too high after being warmed up. Also It seems to run rich when it is cold(some gas smoke).
