So guys trying to finish buttoning up the swap. I have two coolant hoses in the rear which obviously go to my heater core. One of them has a sensor plugged into it. What is that sensor for? Also which hose gets connected to the top nipple and which hoes goes to the bottom heater core nipple?

Here is a picture of the sensor I removed off the heater hose-

And here is a picture of the heater hoses. Which one goes to the upper and lower nipples. I am assuming the one closest to the intake manifold mounts to the lower nipple. And the one furthest mounts on the upper. How ever the plug on the sensor is very short and was on the hose which would mount to the lower nipple. It wont reach after that. Can I move this sensor else where?

remove the sensor and that entire hard pipe. i did and it was no big deal. i think its just some skyline chassis thing, my engine ran fine without it. and the heater hoses just connect them what every way works best (no kinks, will flow decently) its just a loop system so it will work either way. but if i were you i'd replace those hoses and some of the ones under the intake manifold. i found out the hard way after a few days of driving and one poped on me about 20 miles from my house and i had to call AAA for a tow home. do it right the first time my friend.

Yeah, just ditch it. I ran mine disconnected in my skyline. I think maybe it has somthing to do with the weird as climate control in skylines.

I had to get a 300zx TT lower hose and cut it. You need the bigger side that connects to the thermostat, and then the lower part doesn't line up. So you cut the bottom off, and use the KA lower part thats only 3-4in long and that short metal connector. So its 300zx upper -> KA metal -> KA short lower.

My rb20 didn't come with a lower hose so that's the most reliable way I could see doing it.

I just used a 300zx hose and made it fit. a little oil on the tstat housing will do wonders.

i just bought silocone hoses for the skyline and they fit fine for my rb20 s13. top one you'll have to trim a little off. the bottom one fit perfect though. i took about an inch off the top one though but i have a koyo radiator so its a little closer.
