hey all, I am here with McAdam and we are swapping the RB20DET into the 240sx, he's got some questions...

McAdam talkin here.,.....1. RB20DET clip was a HICAS model. how can I make the HICAS pump work with the 240sx rack? can I just plug the output to the rear steering rrack on the pump without any adverse side effects?? or can I just loop it to the resevoir?

2. anyone have a good guide to putting the FSMIC into the 240sx front end? cutting is fun, but mindless cutting gets you nowhere......

and thats all I can think of for now.

has gone pretty smooth so far. no un anticipated headaches, even dropped into the car fairly easy. I am thinkin a RB20 would go nicelyt in my 90 hatch. this is by far easier than replacing the STOCK motor in my 88 saab.

1.) EITHER OR WILL WORK BUT YOU MAY WANT TO PLUG IT CAUSE IF ITS LOOPED IT'LL CAUSE PRESSURE IN THE RES. AND STOP FLUID FROM FLOWING CORRECTLY.

2.) I AM NOT TOO SURE WHERE IT WOULD GO BECAUSE I AM OPTING FOR A STARION IC TO MAKE MY LIFE EASIER.

best thing you can do on the hicas PS pump is this:

1st take the 4 bolts on the end off.

2nd carefully pull the end off it will come apart in layers don't let the layer come apart.

3rd after the end cap is off there is some little square thing called veins in the end the make the fluid circulate. take a magnetic pick up and pull all them out should be about 14 i think.

4th put the cap back on the end very lighty snug the bolts but use lock tite. make sure the pulley rotates very easiely.

5th chop the top off the banjo bolt and weld a cap on it. snug it down and your done.

I did what RubHamuSan suggested and it works.
