Could be a boost leak. I used a 2" PVC cap, drilled a hole, put a valve stem in it, and hose-clamped it onto the elbow off of my compressor housing. Grab a cheap bike pump and now you have a way to test for boost leaks. Helped me find two that I had (including a leaky MAF). Hope it helps...

Sounds like a maf problem. Check the wiring first and if thats ok then try and get your hands on another maf. My RB25 maf recently died also for no apparent reason.

usually whenever you hit a rev-limit like effect around 2k-3k it involves the maf, good rule of thumb to go buy.

I would agree with it being the MAF as well, either loose connection or it went bad, i forgot to plug in the MAF on my friends 300zx, and it bucked and backfired, like crazy, i plugged it on, and it drove fine and i went about my business.

I don't know about you but if my maf isn't working or is unplugged I notice before even leaving the driveway. I have left it unplugged a number of times.~ANDREW~

unplug your maf and drive your car around if the car runs the same as it did with the maf plugged in then its definetaly your maf, I rewired the maf wiring on my rb20 like 5 times and it didn't help at all turns out my problem wasn't the wiring but was the maf itself used my freinds maf and my car ran perfect before it would randomly get fuel cut and not be able to rev past 2000 rpms.

hope that helps
