Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up if you are still running your stock turbos on your 20's.

Today, I had to redo my ground strap that goes from the chassis to the exhaust manifold heat shield. Well, while I was in there, I took off the heat shield for the turbo (I'm swapping out to another, but better shape stock turbo starting tomorrow). Well, when I got the shield off...to my surprise, I saw this.

After saying to myself, I moved the retaining tab, or what ever that little bastard is called, and tightened down the nut.

Later on today I was telling a buddy of mine about it, and he tells me that the RB20's are notorious for that specific bolt to loosen up.

Just thought I was let you know so you can inspect yours to see if this has happened to you. The top part of the underside of the shield was covered in carbon build up, so I had a bit of an exhaust leak. I hope you guys are lucky and don't have this problem.

Ive had that happen, in fact it had backed off completely and was sitting on the coolant feed line Good excuse to swap turbos though.

You caught yours. That one fell off mine and the others were very lose, like hand tight. I knew I had a exhaust leak but I didn't think it was from the turbo so I never pulled the shield off to check. I thouht it was my downpipe.

i have had this happen to a number of nuts on 2 different rb20s. my gasket had blown all the way through (from the turbo to the manifold), and thats how i came across the problem.
