Hey i know alot of u might be like wtf kinda question but im seriously considering getting an rb swapped s13, that or the over abundant sr20det. Well anyway i was wondering what kind of gas mileage u guys get on average w/ the rb20det, or if u ever had any experience w/ the sr20. I know the 4 cyl is better but i really liked the way teh 6 sounds and performs. please help me out, i'm only 19 and need a relibale, and good on gas 240 to get me to and from work. thanks, dave

Stock KA is proly gonna be the best on gas, i get right at 25-26mpg driving only in the city, the rb20 was bad on gas, it usually did about 15-17, it was running really rich tho. If u really care about the gas mileage get a 1.6l sentra or a Honduh

I get right around 21 city (includes beating on it a little) and 27 highway. This is with only an SAFC and a wideband to tune.

If you want reliable, easier on the wallet, and cheaper parts, go SR. Despite what nopwr240 says, the SR would probably get you the best mileage in stock form. I have several friends with the SR and they all report pretty good gas mileage when you keep the boost close to stock and aren't bouncing off of the rev limiter.

Don't get me wrong, I love my RB20 so much that I bought an RB25 and another car to put it in. I probably wouldn't buy an SR for myself but in your situation I think the SR might work better.

thans guys and ive already had a dohc and sohc ka and now im ready for a turbo, but dont have the money to turbo a ka the right way, rebuild etc. i'd rather buy a car that is already set like sr, or rb. and to the guy who said buy a sentra or a honda, no thanks, i drive an accord momentarily and i miss the feel of both my 240's that ive owned. plus i only work less than 2 miles from my job, so gas isnt too too much of an issue..plus its a gas station

stock 240 is powerfulgood on gasthe reason people upgrade to an rb motoris for power, etc.trust me, you wont be saving any gas with an rb.

my former rb20 setup with upgraded turbo puts down 350miles per tank. those of you getting 20mpg get your sh1t tuned.

close, i have a stock RB25, and i get 30 MPG highway and 25-27 casual city bone stock.

KA24DE only got 25 highway with an intake on it.

so you do save gas getting a bigger motor, since you don't have to wrap it up to get power out of it like you do a smaller one.

+1. I got around 30mpg on the highway (in stock form, pushing about 4bar fuel pressure), driving on average 80-85mph... I dyno-tuned with an SAFC-2 ranging from 11.5-12.5:1 AFR.

What I was trying to say is that people don't generally do RB25 swaps for increased gas mileage. And most people don't keep their motors stock, eventually making them gas-guzzlers.

I get 26 pretty much all the time unless I'm driving unsually hard on a tank. All stock with FMIC, Am Performance DP, and 3" exhaust
