rb20 fuel pump power

how did you all get your pumps to work i hooked up the the black and pink wire but i still get no priming. it has the correct voltage, also my relays in the passenger side fuse box arent clicking but there's power at the fuses. we got it started up but a while ago with starting fluid but it only idled for a min or two. we tried starting it again but it never idled again after that just coughed and died. i am at a dead end right now totally out of ideas
