Sorry for my stupid question, when we pulled the motor from the clip we forgot to mark which line on the engine was the main and which was the return :rolleyes

There's 2 fuel lines fittings on the front of the RB20, one that sits a little higher and is closer to the valve cover, and one that sits a little lower and is further from the valve cover that runs under the intake manifold to the rear of the fuel rail. Which one is the main line? We were thinking the lower one that runs to the rear....

the end with the fuel pressure regulator is the return line.

Both ends have FPR's on the RB20. One is really the regulator; the other is just a dampener. IIRC, the front is the FPR, which connects to the return line. Fuel enters the rail from the rear.

hahahaha thats stupid

anyway, unless its completley backwards from the other RB engines, yes the return line is at the front of the car.

That's what we figured, thanks for the confirmation :)

It might seem stupid, but I'm sure the RB25's also have a dampener somewhere. It's just so confusing on the RB20 because the dampener is identical to the FPR, and they both bolt onto the ends of the fuel rail.

Which is why there have been like 4 questions on this forum now asking which fuel hose goes where.

The dampner isn't alwways there, I've had 3 RB clips that has not had them and I've had 2 that have. To make it as clear as possible, the line with the fuel fiter goes the line that goes around to the back of the rail.
