Hey all, I searched and came up empty handed... if it's already on here I apologize in advance.
Here's the situation... Just got my RB20 installed in my '93 hatch. I bought it out of an 89 and had a buddy come up and change the wiring from SOHC chassis to DOHC...
After I got everything hooked up I took it out and it had a really low fuel cut... like hittin' a brick wall at around 4000rpm... So I figured it was just cause I still had the factory fuel pump (was planning on changing it but didn't have the cash). Now I have a Walboro 255 in it, and it gives me a fuel cut around 5500, I've only noticed it in 3rd, but that's the gear I can best run out around here...
Could this fuel cut be from bad tuning on the SAFC, and the Knock sensors are now picking up knock due to a bad tune? I'm just running an SAFC, the original... It's got an RB25 turbo, front mount, and upgraded injectors. I rode in the car that had the engine in it before and he could run out every gear until the rev limiter (he didn't do it all the time, but if the tires broke loose it never gave a fuel cut).
Any ideas on why I'm still gettin' a fuel cut?
