Are the exhaust manifold studs for the RB20 and the RB25 the same? I had a couple of studs on my RB20 that were broken. Im thinking about pulling the head and taking it to a machine shop and let them get em out. I have a spare head gasket I just dont know if its as good as the oem.

Yeah they should be the same. Pulling the head off is gonna be costly. Goto your local auto store and get bits called EZ Outs. They are tapered squares you pound into holes that you drill and grabs studs that are broken. Then turn and its out. I would try that first. I think someone asked about studs before... Jon had all the dimensions.

advance auto sells a nice little bolt extractor kit for about 10$ i used it on my rb to get the one stud that was broken out and they are much beefier than the ez outs.

yeah I don't like easy outs either I just couldn't remember the name of the other ones. They are the spiral type kind that work better than ez outs.

Alright, I finally worked up the balls to take a drill to the head and everthing worked out awesome. Drilled all the way through the studs and they slid right out(bolt extrator). As far as finding replacement studs, the size is 10mm x 50mm the pitch is 1.25. The only one I found that will for sure work are the ones from ARP.
