Post

I just had to post up im just too excited.

I had virtually no problems aside from having a bunk DiF fan controller GRRRRRRR. I emailed dif, they said i have to contact phase2. I better not get some sort of run-around. When i first started it up it ran like a**. Sounded like it was firing on 2 or 3 cylinders only. Checked spark, had spark. Slapped some BCPR6ES and gapped them to .8 mm. fixed some boost leaks and she idled like a champ.

So i took her out on the road and sweet jesus i am happy with my motor selection. For a grand total of $4500 including the 240sx itself you cant go wrong with the rb20. The thing pulls HARD from the small amount of juice that i gave it... Its also running pig rich. Can't wait to iron that out.

Current setup is r32 crossmember, bmw e30 mounts, 3" turboback with syko elbow (totally worth the price btw), foam filter, huge same side fmic, megan FPR (great unit, dare i say, better than the nismo for the price?) and whinebro 255 fuel pump. Next mod is rb25 turbo. I have a vlsd sitting in my garage and im waiting for some free cash to get some tires on my rims. Hoping to be into the 13s after that.

Planned mods are nistune injectors maf and TB. WOO!!

Sounds exactly like my car. Except I still have the stock smic and all.

And I'm going with a holset hx30.

I did blow the head gasket at the track tuesday. I'm pissed, I didn't replace the short soft line on the turbo coolant feed. There's also oil in my charge piping...

I would replace all those coolant hoses ASAP. I even had 2100 miles of daily driving on it and of course it waited until I was at drift practice.

But congrads on the swap! Hopefully you'll have less problems then me!

Isn't that turbine just a lil too big for the 20?

Ugh man that sucks haha. Looks like you got your work cut out for you already!!

I wanna drag mine... So im waiting to get my vlsd and good rubber in there. Hopefully nothing pops. I'm hoping to be into the 13s...

Damn that engine seems like it likes to be revved to hell and back eh? I dont have my tach corrected yet but im curious about the rpms.

How the hell did you get your hood to close? I went r32 xmember and that BOV is stickin up a damn mile it seems. Gonna need to relocate it and cut, or shim AND cut it looks like...

I got the mckinny mounts. My oil pan is level with the cross member and the engine clears the hood no problem.

When I had my car dyno'd (such a short 2 weeks ago....) it made 212WHP and 201Wtq and redlined at 6700. But yea it does rev quickly.

Considering most people go with the hx35 or hy35, on any thing from SR20's to rb25s and some rb25 guys use the hx35/40 hybrid I feel it'll be plenty responsive.

And turbos are never too big, bigger ones just don't make down low power is all.

Sigh, well its time to go pick up a trailer and get my car

why did you get r32xmember and BMW E30 mounts

And hood should close on R32 xmember with stock mounts, dont know bout E30 mounts.

bloodspread Syko elbow, their about $200 new, comes with Sr20 DP gasket, nuts/bolts, and instructions. clears RB20 with R32 xmember and stock mounts in S13 by about 1/2" inch never had problems with it, drive fast and slow and it never gives me problems. Its PITA to install on with engine in car, but doable.

I forgot which member it was but they said it mounted the engine a little lower than factory nissan mounts...

And lots of people have hood closing issues when running crossmember.

I ended up paying just over 300 CAD shipped. The great thing about it is you can use an sr20 dp and she bolts right up.

And yes it clears the column beautifully. Its worth the price if you dont wanna piss around with the factory elbow.
