Wel I have been having some issues with the re-wire on my rb20 into my 95 240sx.My buddy who I trust knows quite a bit about these engines and swaps as he was the first one to do it even remotely close to where I live,he tells me that the case on the ecu does not have to be grounded,I know with most ecus that is not the case but I am having some stupid issues that have to do with ground fromn the ecu.

Does the case have to be grounded or not this is the question???

I ran mine with the ECU on the passenger floor alot of the time during the beginning/testing phase and it worked just fine.

There are ground wires that have to be hooked up, but my car runs just fine with the ecu on the floor while I am fixing stuff.

Correct me if im wrong, but a mass majority of the wires that ground go to this brown plug about half a foot or so up from the ECU plug on the harness, and then there are chasis grounds in the engine bay and elsewhere.
