just thought i would share a few diffrences ive noticed between old rb20's (rb20 on timing cover) and new ones (blank timing cover).ive got a 93 rb20det which has no rb20 on the timing cover and came with grey faced gauges.the turbo on the "new" rb20 is indeed ball bearing as the banjo bolt i pulled out of the block for the oil supply line had a restrictor built into it.wiring the 2 seems to be the same over all but the gauge cluster wiring is diffrent between the 2 and some of the instrumentation wiring seems to be diffrent as well.there are a few more diffrences between the 2 but i cant remember them, so these are the few that stuck out in my head.

I forget dose the ball bearing last longer than the non ball bearings at higher boost? or is it all the same? Boom from too much heat?

both suck down a quick death when high boosting due to the crappy ceramic wheels.its not that the wheels blow up (which they can) but rather the ceramic coating comes off.

engine temp coolant sensors also seem to be diffrent, 300zx one works on mine while the ka one works on the old rb20.
