RB20 CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS ?

Can someone tell me what the 3 bolts are for that are in the valley near the spark plugs ? Since the FSM calls for 14 headbolts and those would make 17, I'm confused? thanks to all that reply

By chance are you referring to the bolts that hold the coil pack brackets down?

No, these are the 3 10mm hex hd bolts that look exactly like the other 14 head bolts.there is 1 closer to the front of the engine and the other 2 are toward the rear, down as low as the spark plug holes.I'm not sure if i need to remove these since the FSM does not mention them , thanks

those are for the water gallerys, dont touch.

I took 1 out should I seal it when putting it back ? torque? thanks Carl

use a little teflon paste and torque till nice and snug, its pipe thread.

ha, did that too back in the day. put it back good and it'll be fine.

Mine are always seized up and strip when I try to remove them.

Thanks guys, I put permatex paste on the 1 plug I took out and made it tight.
