I need some opinions on my current plans for custom rb20 motor mounts. I was looking at gavsters custom motor mounts on another thread and since one of my mounts is broken i decided i would go this route. I would be using a 6 inch piece of all thread(coarse) with a washer between 2 nuts. I would then use a mold( cup or can, cylinder of sorts) to form the mount around the all thread and washer and nuts. I would be using Devcon Flexane 94 to make the mount as well. Let me know what you guys think about this idea and feel free to post up some more ideas and previous experiences. Thanks

I say go for it!!!

I'm rockin Top hat mounts and the Islolators are garbage. They are so squishy I've squeezed them with my bare hands.

The next time I pull my motor I'm gonna make some isolators also.Post up some pics when you do it!!

Awesome! Im looking for something a little stiffer than the stock mounts to get rid of the sloppy feel of the stock mounts but i still wanna retain the ride comfort of the stock mounts. I will post up pictures when they are completed and maybe if anyone is interested then i can sell some to others that are having the same problems. If anyone is interested then let me know. Thanks again!!

I have some leftover flexane from when I filled the stock transmission isolator and I'm planning on making some new isolators this winter. I still haven't decided what I want to use for a mold yet, but I haven't really looked into it very closely.

A little tip to using flexane 94 is to make sure you caulk or seal the openings around the mold and all-thread or that stuff will flow everywhere. It is nearly impossible to get off of whatever it touches. My fingers were stained for a week after messing with it.
