I am getting a miss at full throttle and it has started to happen more often. Is there anyway to check to see if the coils are bad? I know they get hot and are know to crap out. What are the signs? 300zx or mabye plusars for replacements?

REPLACEMENTS ARE 1990-1994 Q45 CYL 1 OR 2 BOOTLESS.

THE BEST WAY TO CHECK IS TO HEAT THE COIL TO OPERATING TEMP AND CHECK CONTINUITY ALSO CHECK CONTINUITY AT AMBIENT. IT SHOULD HAVE AROUND 1.2 OHMS OF RESISTANCE.

THAT SHOULD BE FINE NOW YOU HAVE TO CHECK THEM AT OPERATING TEMP..... REMEMBER EPOXY EXPANDS AND IF THERE IS A BREAK IN THE COIL IT'LL SHOW WHEN THE EPOXY IS AT FULL EXPANSION (OPERATING TEMP). IF THE COIL TESTS AT INFINATE OR 0 YOU HAVE A BAD COIL..... IT NEEDS TO RETAIN RESISTANCE.
