Hey guys, recently got my rb20 in my s13 and got it all wired up
it starts but seems to be idling high (no tach yet) and when i give it gas it seems to bog? Im thinking its getting too much fuel but i know very little about cars  and the fuel pressure sensor i got broke...
i thought it was because of vacuum leaks but i fixed most of them and it didnt change anything
ill put a link (dont know how to put a video in a forum) so you can see what im talking about (no exhaust on so its kind of loud)

I changed the spark plugs and they looked like it was running rich? From my understanding thats what the black means

and also i haven't seen this on other rb20's and im assuming its a FPR?

car is far from complete so don't be disappointed in the messyness.. haha

Hey, i just finished doing the same swap. i had the same issue after my initial drive. it turned out to be the number one coil pack was dead. Remove the coilpack cover, start the engine and unplug one coil at a time. if the engine sound doesn't change then you have a bad coil or wiring to coil or possible ignitor.

My rb20det did the same thing, once i put in a new Q45 coilpack it is now running great.

And yes that looks like a nismo fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure at idle should be ~36psi.

Good luck

TPS set at the right voltage? maybe change the coolant temp sensor? when they go bad car will do some crazy things. But check the coil packs 1st see if you have a dead one.

Alright ill check those out if its not a coil pack. Is the coolant temp sensor on the front of the motor? Where the top radiator hose goes to?
