RB20 block plug identification

hey, i was taking apart my Rb20 for a rebuild and came across this plug and i don't exactly know what it is or the importance of it. i had no plug going into it so i was just wondering if you could help me out

so its not to important unless i had a r32 gauge cluster in, are their any ways to hook it up to a signal light or gauge?

Umm.... Thats a good question I have yet to ponder myself.

I don't have the R32 Cluster either.

I'm thinking that the ECU might shut down if it does not see a signal from the Oil Pressure Sender/Switch.

doesnt it operate the oil pressure light on the stock cluster,? if memory serves correct i had it wired that way.

dual purpose sensor for oilpressure and the idiot light.nothing more, ecu could care less about oil pressure.

^+1 you can wire it with your factory ka lower harness to your oil dummy light but the light wont turn on until it sees lower then 5psi of oil preassure

its honestly alot easier to just pull them on all rb engines and swap in a ka sensor.they go bad and leak so its prime time while the engine is out.

you can actually get different pressure ratings for the switch...nissans is 14 i think but im sure others might use a higher one.

So then I can just yank it out and screw my sensor for the Oil pressure Gauge (Aftermarket) directly into the block??

Right Now I have a adapter fitting and a brass tee on there.

It would be much cleaner if I had the Oil Pressure Sensor for the Gauge (aftermarket) directly in there.
