rb20 bad compression cylinder no smoke?

ok so heres the deal we just dropped the rb in this weekend , which wasnt bad at all... but after getting it running it runs like crap. compressions good on all cylinders but #1 , its at like 17psi... first thought was a bent valve or headgasket but the strange thing is ,is thats theres not a spot of smoke at all...doesnt burn oil , doesnt burn coolant..im at a loss , any ideas?#1 bent valve"s"#2 stuck valve"s"#3 cross threaded spark plug hole#4 god doesnt like meany ideas would be great XD

Thats what happened to be 4 years ago.#2 cyl out of round .068"

Get a leakdown tester.

Do you have a lot of blowby coming out of the breathers in the valve covers???

Bent valve would likely show 0 for compression.

Leakdown is def a good idea... but could be your HG. Load the car a bit and watch your engine temps... if it raises significantly after a lot of loading that's a good place to start. Also check the color of your coolant... check for mixing of oil/coolant. Might be a small leak that will eventually catch up to you...
