so yeah, my R32 AWD trans has a completely grenaded 3rd gear, and it sucks, i daily the car, and it's more of an annoyance than anything, as i don't drive like a jack a**, and can skip third... but it would be nice to have it...

anyways, i'm getting a pretty sweet deal on a low mile RB20 AWD trans, oil pan, axles and diff for $200... i'll use the pan/diff/axles as a back up on the parts shelf...

either way, my question is before i bo guy this, will the RB20 trans fit (i've done minimal reseach, and seller says it will bolt right up).

also, any major difference with the gearing from a Rb20 to a RB26?

final thing, motor makes around 463awhp, and will be getting re tuned for around 500-550 here shortly, will the RB20 trans hold up? at least till i can lock down a 6 spd for a good price?

oh, and i have searched interchangeability, and not much comes up but a few old NICO posts that don't say much...

Bolts right up. They are the exact same thing, shape and strength. The R32 GTS4 is basically a GTR with stock fenders and an RB20. The rest of the drivetrain is the same as the GTR--transmission, rear end (different gears though), axles shafts, hubs, driveshaft, rear suspension (at least the way it bolts in), etc.

If the car is AWD don't mix and match RB20 trans with RB26 rear end gearing...if you run the RB20 AWD trans runt he rb20 AWD rear end.

why? i'm going to be using the stock R32 front diff, and the stock R32 rear end, just swapping out trannys...
