Anyone install front a swaybar with the R32 Xmember?I bought some S/T sways so I will post if they do work. If not then I will figure out how to get it on. If anyone out there has any input on this I am sure that it would be appreciated by a few people.

Thanks

the best option for a oem swaybar in a RB powered S13 is the C33 Laurel or A31 Cefiro one. they use the same suspension setup as the S13 but come with an RB motor meaning they fit perfectly and are slightly thicker. unfortuntely there are probably very few if any in the 'States.

Any recommendations on where to buy such parts from, like sway bars? Venus sells *some* used parts for JDM cars but I don't see anything from Cefiros or Laurels.

Maybe the "GTR Shop" guy could provide some insight? Isn't he down under?

You might also look into the Whiteline Sway bars. I haven't tried them, but from everthing I have seen they have a Dip in the middle that would probably give you the clearance you need. I used mckinney mounts, so my stock fit, but I will probably go with the whiteline when I upgrade.

Yeah I was planning on a Whiteline adjustable, I'd just like to know my options. If there's a cheaper alternative I definitely want to know what it is...

Can anyone confirm for sure that the Whiteline adjustable sway bar can clear the oil pan?? I figure if I'm gonna spend $70 on adjustable end links for my stock sway bar, effectively making my car handle WORSE than stock (since it's a stock bar spaced further away from the mounting points), I may as well drop the $175 for the sway bar instead and improve the handling at the same time...

I think his clears because he redrilled the X-memeber to move it back a little, which gave him clearance. Same way using a mount kit gives you clearance.

SO using the RB20 X/member and drilling new holes will allow it to be installed without damaging the Pan?

Or did he use a mount kit?

Just to clarify, the Whiteline adjustable front sway bar fits great (I'm using the stock R32 crossmember), doesn't hit the oil pan. I have it on the middle stiffness setting and it has clearance. Bar is nice and heavy, too, REALLY stiff.....can't wait to drive this thing :)

A stiff bar is probably also good for restoring cornering balance due to the heavier RB engines up front. Let us know how it performs.

I used stock RB mounts all the way around and xmember and drilled 2 new slots, one on each side of the xmember 3/4" back from the center of the originals....fits perfect in my S14.
