The chances are about 90% right now i'm going to be picking up a 240 with a number of mods done to it, but a 200k mil engine and transmission in it, that while they still run well, I would rather just swap ASAP. I am not the richest of fellows right now so an RB20 sounds like a good place to start, with an RB25 being my long time goal. I am only thinking RB20 right now because I am under the impression the mounting and everything in the the same for the RB25, so it would basically be dropping a few new things in when i go RB25. I just wanted to make sure this is correct on some level, or if not, then i'll prolly go CA18 due to the price and high revving that I think would be fun to play with for 12-18months until the 25 comes. Thanks in advance.

The RB20 and the RB25 are close in mounting style but not the same. The RB20 transmission is shorter then the RB25 and the motor mounts are different. The RB25 sits flat on the crossmember and the RB20 sits at a angle like the RB26, KA, and SR.

would you say that there would be any significant increase/decrease in ease of installing the RB25 is the RB20 was the previous motor as apposed to CA?

Nope!!! Both will need work. Not much will change over.... Maybe the intercooler and fuel pump...........

I say, If you want a RB25 then DO a Rb25. Why waste your money on one motor then switch it later on..........?????

Do whats in your budget and in your best intrest.

If you want a in-line six and can't afford the Rb25 then do the RB20.

My 2 cents..........

yeah, i cant really afford an rb25 right now, and i just want a little something to play with, an SR would obviously be a play motor too, with more torque, but guess what...$2600 for a motorset is ridiculous so RB here I come! I am also wondering the best place to get one now? I try calling Venus all day and all hours of the night, and one line is always a modem, and one line is ALWAYS busy (even when i just called at 12:30AM 10 minutes ago)....so where the hell else can I get an RB20?
