will the rb20 will pass emissions?

i bought the car out-of-state so i need to get it e-checked, and i don't have the stock motor so swapping them out is kind of out the question. i'm not really sure that it will pass, so i'm trying figure out what i should do.

i'm open to all suggestions, so any incite is appreciated.

thanks for your time.

when my RB was basically stock (fmic/intake/exhaust) it passed emissions well below standards here in AZ w/ cat. You shouldn't have anything to worry about if it is running well

All depends on your local emissions laws. Mine definitely didn't pass up here, but I heard the states to the south of me have less strict emissions laws. Maybe its time for me to pack my things and move down a couple states.

RB20 ONLY READ HC AND CO ,CO2 IN SOME CASES, JAPAN READS THESE EMISSIONS ONLY, PUTTING a catwill be fine but, it depends on what cat you put. I would say go with a three way cat it burns off NOX and it will run pretty clean, and rb are pretty clean running engines.

Hey, something I have been wondering is:

On my KA-E when they put me on the rollers, they clamped the coil wire to read rpm. What happens with the RB20? Do they just skip it if they cant readily find it or is there some other wire that is easy to use?

I am trying to avoid that elephant in the room type of awkward conversation with them.

dude big wire in the middle going to the first coilpack, or the looped wire which never works for anyone. I mean, how do you time your car?

I haven't had to yet. So I need to have the coil pack cover off before heading to emissions then I take it?

So do you guys go to a hook up for the emissions since its obvious you wouldn't pass the visual.

Well from what I have heard, here in WA, there isn't a visual inspection. Them popping the hood is only to hook up a tachometer to an ignition wire. IIRC its an independent company that does the inspection and they could care less what engine you have as long as it passes the numbers.
