Hello, its been a while since I have posted anything but I just had an issue come up. My RB20's alternator kicked the bucket today. At first I thought I had broken a rod because the sound the engine was making was absolutley horrible but turns out it was actually the alternator, never knew they could make such a terrible sound. I know you can fab a bracket to fit a Quest alternator but I would really prefer something that will directly bolt on, is my only option an rb20 alternator?
I did a search and found info about the quest alternator but at this point it is not a good option for me. I work full time as well as go to school full time which is why I need my car running as soon as possible.
I am pretty sure I have a spare KA alternator which I heard I could use as well if I fabricated a bracket.
1. Is there a direct bolt on replacement for the rb20 alternator that could be found at a local auto part store?
2. If not, is it generally worth it to have an alternator rebuilt?
and
3. Any information on the KA alternator swap if it is my last option?
Thank you in advance
edit: Or does anyone have a working rb20 alternator that they are willing to sell?
