Rb20 alternator problem!! Loud screeching!!

Ok so the other night when i got home the alternator started screeching very very LOUD! So i just swapped on a ka alternator and now that one does it too!! So i tried another one and it does the same thing! What is going on? Is it something i am not thinking of or what? Please help me out!

i had that same problem when i thought my alternator went- out-when i put on new one I over tigned the bracket and it was To tight and i had that Nose ur talking about-losend it up- On both screws and nose went away-

Yeah if your belts are TOO tight then your going to be putting side load on the shaft.You could wear down the shaft and the bearings in the alternator that way.

You should have about a Half Inch of play total in the belt.

So the KA alternator bolts right on???SOHC, DOHC S13 or 14??

I've heard that the Nissan Quest alternator is a upgrade, dunno if its true or not.

Quest alternator is definently worth putting on. I did so, and it alleviated quite a few of my problems.

probably belt, try adjusting it.

The Nissan Quest ? What years? Are there any modifications required? Also, what is the output in Amps on the Quest alternator.

Yeah drop some knowledge on us!!!I think its 110 amps instead of 90 stock. (Not sure)
