Wow I didn't know you could pull the spring out of the actuator, where is the retaining piece? My guess is the picture has it in the right orientation.

no there was no retaining piece. i tried to put it back together like the orientation in the picture and it wouldn't go all the way together. but when i tried it the other way, the shaft slides freely back and forth, which i don't remember it doing before i took it off. anyone have an extra layin around or want to take theirs off and clean it and check it out for me.

The "pin" on the half with the electrical connector did wiggle around pretty freely. The brass shaft stayed in the half with the electrical connector unlike yours and won't come out easy. Hope the pics help.

The more i look at yours the more different it looks. Here's the part number on mine. Maybe they are different years or something.

it kinda looks like you broke the actuator. i've never seen the actuator in multiple pieces like you have it. try using a ka or sr actuator and bolt it on to the aac body. should work fine.

the solenoids are identical...i have used both ka and rb interchangeably.just make sure you get the brown plug solenoid as the sohc ka used a different plug.any twincam s chassis solenoid will work for sure.

Can just the solenoid be purchased instead of the whole assembly?
