i was wanting to ask some questions about local and non local shops are just somone that knows how to install an rb25det( first option ) into a 91 nissan 240sx, manual transmission, dohc. In asking how to, im trying to compare with other people if it is way too expensive to try and make it fit becuase ive heard that the wiring architecture is crazy.now as far as rb20 goes i would be the supplier of mounts and driveshaft. ive been able to get 1000$ for installation fee which cover intercooler fab, firewall fab, transmission fab,etc

So if anyone wants to help out i just want some prices and lots of information about rb25det into 91240

firewall fab? not to flame you, but i dont think you know very much or have done much research on this swap, i dont even own a s13 yet, or a rb25det, but i have done all the research on what it takes and what is needed in order to swap it in. from what you have posted it looks like you dont. you should read all the faq's, and im not sure if advertising a personal buissness here is allowed either.

1000$ install fee doesn't sound bad i know id charge a lot more lol but yeah there is no "firewall fab" other than putting a nice dent in one spot... i suggest you make sure the person who is installing it at least knows what they are doing even if you dont. hahah

It really does sounds like you need to do some more research and become better educated on the swap before you get too deep into it, if your serious about it.

Doing the swap yourself will save you money. Even if you have to purchase tools and an engine hoist. That's still under 500$ if you get some craftsman tools or somethin.

It's not as complicated as you think. I can tell, you're not too informed on this.. and that's probably pushing you towards paying a shop to do all the work for you.. even though you could do it yourself if you have a driveway or garage.

My first swap I had to push myself into doing it instead of paying a shop. And now, 4 years later.. I'd never pay anyone to work or build my car for me. Can't trust too many people as far as workmanship goes... gotta do it yourself.

There is a lot of info here. Search and read, you'll simplify the imagined complications and gain some confidence in what you'd be paying someone else (a shop) to do.

Hey Mr. Honda, I'm located in Pensacola, Fl and researching the RB/240 swap as well.I plan on installing the motor myself, just trying to find someone who can help/do the wiring (not my forte').

Who is going to install the motor for you? Not interested in having them do it, I just didn't know of any local shops that did it.

You can AIM me at LukeWarm04, and if you know of any local S14's for sale let me know. I got the cash for the car and swap, just can't find a local car that I like.

It looks like u need to do a lot more research....droppin the motor in can be as easy as just mounts and a driveshaft yes...but u have to take into account how is the timing belt? Water pump?? Will your radiator hold the new 6 cylinder engine? what bout a clutch? Fuel supply?? and intercooler??? Plus youll need tuning...yes it is a easy drop in...if u have the correct parts and the know how...i would not suggest swaping an RB motor in yourself with no motor swaping experience....But i also wouldnt pay a shop to do it....then tend to not know how to do the swap either....Id say contact SillyRB and see what he can do for u...
