I started my project 2 weeks ago. I am going to re-do the car from the ground up. The car is currently on blocks in the garage. the front end is entirly stripped down. (accident by previous owner) the ka will be removed tonight or tomorrow depending on how the evening goes the interior is completely gutted (except for sound deadening i want to be able to take a date out in the car when It is done:D ) anyway I am worried about the motor swap. I want to go standalone I am hopeing to get 300 rwhp and will be more than happy with a sub 13 quarter. I am wondering if I go standalone I know I do not need the full harness but will it help to have it? I am going to pick up the motor next month (only time I can get off to go get it and I will have sufficient funds then) I plan on sending the car to the frame shop next week or two. anyway basically I am gonna need all the help I can get on the wiring and standaloneCan I tune it myself or should I even botherwhat has been the most user freindly systemdo I need the harness? and yes I have searched many times but that makes it even more confusingthanks any help is much appreciatedAJP.s. I will start posting pics soon

if I can pump 300 whp out of the stock ecu does that mean I have to re burn a new map into it or pay someone to do it.

Thanks for the help anyone who feels like jumping in to add helpfull hints please do otherwise I am going to use this thread to keep track of the project.

Anyway the motor came out of the car last night it was alot easier than I thought it would be. On that easy note do you remember that little disclaimer that every tutorial has to "be careful around the power steering lines" well I chopped one in half. That should give me a hard time when I go to put it back together. Will hopefully post pics tonight. frame shop next weekAJ
