Well i just wanted to see what kinda quarter mile times you people run with your rb20det setups an what mods you have. Also im considering swapping a rb20 with basically stock setup in my s13, what times would i expect to run.... say low 14's?

Mods:

Nismo FPR, 3" test pipe, 3" cat back, M's K&N Intake, 24x12x3 FMIC, HKS SSQV, Silvia Brakes, R33 VLSD, Walbro 255lph on stock boost (10psi)

stock tire size/ stock suspension. I had serious wheel hop issues. Could have probably hit 13.6 w/out the wheel hop the way it was going.

it might be 7psi stock but most people have exhaust and no cat so the boost prob goes up from that. Note I'm just grabbing at straws here.

I run .8 bar on 93 octane gas. With a stock 240sx exhaust so I don't know if that is it. At 94 octane I ran .83 yummy. .8 bar is about 11.6 psi. That may also be a boost spike from the internally gated turbo that comes stock on RB20s that will spike because of heat. The heat which is caused by the majorly restrictive exhaust. That is just my take on it.~ANDREW~

The amount of boost doesn't matter if you run exhaust and a downpipe. It depends on how much the wastegate is closing, which is why people have boost controllers to set boost. All exhaust will do is help spool time.-Alex

My RB25 that hit 8PSI with a stock 240 exhaust and Sidemount Intercooler, now hits 11 with the front mount, gutted cat and Apexi N1 Dual exhaust.

So mods can definitely cause your boost to increase without the addition of a boost controller.

Laugh back at them. The gauge cluster does not read in psi, it reads in 1/10 bar. 0.7 bar is right below 10 psi.

your added boost is really a boost spike. Yes there is more boost but it is dangerous uncontrolled. If you shot Nitrous it would jump passed 1 bar in a second and POW. Check your actuator.

Not sure if it is 7 Psi or .7 Bar will check when I get home but anyways, mods will not change natural boost unless something is wrong. If the wastegate is to small or does not open enough you will get boost spikes.

Due to your 3" pipes and such your response is faster than the wastegates ability to release the pressure.

I have seen this happen too many times to list. Example Stock B13 with Blue Bird swap. Stock exhaust not boost controller it was at 7psi, 3" exhaust no Cat and boost jumped to 10psi. Happend on my DSM too.
