OMG just forget it the RB26 isent going to fit!I say that you stay with the SR20!!there is a minimal chance that the RB26 can fit in a 510!but first you should find out how long the RB26 is and how far the tranny goes!

you may have a good price on one but the fabrication would be insane. you would end up spending way to much money to get it done. at least get it done right. those cars you really do not need that much hp. think power to weight ratio. and also there are many other choices than just an sr20. there are some v6's that will fit if you want that displacement. like the vg30's and the twin turbo ones. do your research and then figure out what is best for you

That's a long motor/tranny combo for a tiny car with a tiny engine bay. Don't really see it working out.

if you are really wanting a oldschool car and a rb engine go with a 280 or a 240z either of those cars are great platforms for the inline 6. the 510 just doesnt have the length in the engine bay for it. it can be done but prepare to spend alot of $$$$$$ and by then the car would weigh so much cause of the offset of the engine it wouldn't handle or be worth much besides drag. 510's are hard to drift due to the small wheel base. and autocrossing has alot to do with weight balancing. and the rb isn't realy one known for being "light".

wow! thats expensive!

here in NZ, I paid $650NZ for my CA18DET ( including ECU, uncut loom, and all sensors ), and paid another $250NZ for a gearbox

that adds up to $900NZ......approx $450 US

given the fact that the us doesn't have ca18det's stock and also didn't nz have CA18det's already there not needed to be imported? we don't have that luxury. also the prices have gone up alot due to the price of SR20's going up

get the RB and an old Z car!

but yeah...it's hard to fit more than 4 cylinders in one of the cars...better weight balance anyway.

There was an orange and black 2-door at Shasta this year with an RB. They cut the firewall. Pics Here: http://510garage.com/photos/di...os=55

and wow that was a clean job on that 510. but there is no way i would ever want to work in that engine bay with that large motor. and they chose a nice standalone system SDS!! the only one i plan on using!!
