I've been toying with the idea of doing an RB swap in my NA Z32. the VG30DETT seems too problematic to me, so i was considering the route of doing either an RB25DET or an RB26DETT.

I don't know much about the RB's so what are the main differences and what would you recommend?

there's a websit RBZ32.com with lots of info, but there aren't that many people on there and it takes forever to get a reply so that's why i'm posting here. thanks

at the top of the page there are a few stickies that do a pretty good job of describing the differences between the motors. just do a little searching and you'll probably find everything you need to know.

i'm leaning more towards an RB25DET mostly because of initial cost. an extra $1000 dollars seems a little much for the 26.

would the rb25 be a good choice if i'm looking for ~350hp? dependable daily driver?

If your doing the swap for reliability then I think your barking up the wrong tree. A well sorted RB should be about the same as a well sorted modded z32.

If you wanna do it real bad, buy boozted3's car that is already finished with a 26 in it.

Dunno at this point, got a lot of problems sorted out and need to head back to the rollers. I am trying to get my part throttle tuning done first, then maybe to the dyno. Last time I made a lowly 336rwhp but 375 ft/lbs at 4250. Power fell off fast after that. I am pretty sure I am making more tq now than I was.

Should be in the low 4s I imagine. This was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno btw.

deffinitly check out http://www.rbz32.com and http://www.racebread.com for swap info. and if i was in your shoes i would go with atleast an rb26 cause you can hit up to 380rwhp with a bone stock rb26 with a good tune but your going to have to go top mount single turbo cause till this day i have not seen a stock rb26 twin turbo setup on a z32.
