dont get mad at me if this topic has already been beaten to death. i tried searching it and it turned up no results. i was exploring the idea of someday doing an rb25 or 26 engine swap in my ka powered 92 240. i was wondering what the weight differences were like and if the difference in weight distribution made a noticeable difference in handling. and if so, could this be rectified with suspension tuning? thanks!

I put an rb20 in, which has the lighter transmission. With the stock suspension, I could definatly feel the front of the car being more resistant to changing direction. The car would roll more in the opposite direction I was trying to turn. Inertia and all that. I put some of the KTS coil-overs on from SPL and now I don't notice at all. It corners better than my 300zx twin turbo.

I have read several places it is around 180 +/- (I'm sure there will be more opinions) heavier. Has any one ever actually weighed both?

you can tune the suspension around the weight.

yeah ive read that too ^. i also read that the weight distribution was not affected too much but of this i was skeptical. i was wondering what you pros had to say on the subject. good to know about the coils. i was looking at that new endura tech suspension system greg was talking about.
