I've decided to try my hand at building a stainless steel top mount turbo manifold for my rb25det that I'm putting into my Z32. The placement of the Engine will Be a little unique so im not sure what other manifolds would work with my clearances. I'm a proficient TIG welder and fabricator with more free time than abundance of free cash (2,200 for a full race manifold) and i don't want to buy cheap Chinese crap.

I want to try to locate all the basic ( but quality ) stainless parts to build the manifold.
Exhaust flange
T3/t4 flange
Waste gate parts
Schedule 10 stainless elbows and straights 1.5" ????

Someone had posted on here that raw brokerage had flanges, but I couldn't locate them on the website

Vibrant has some nice stuff, they have the turbo flanges, but they do not have the manifold flange.

Found this place for the schedule 10 elbows $4.95 ea. compared to vibrants $19 each. Not sure about the shipping costs comparisons though lol. http://www.acestainless.com/popular-products/weld-els

cool, good to know about ace stainless. Do you guys know if any of those places you guys posted up make flanges from 304 stainless steel also? All I keep finding is regular steel, not stainless. thanks for the help guys, it is appreciated.

We're on the same page with the elbows from ace stainless, I know they are 304 stainless. What I'm saying I cant find in stainless is the head flange that bolts to the block.

The head flanges are made from steel for a couple reasons. the way stainless expands and contracts can actually sheer off manifold fasteners and they come loose.. stainless can still be used but most people use mild steel.

I also use a 308&309H rod when welding manifolds its less prone to crack then normal 308L

hmmm good to know, and there is no cracking issues at the transition from the mild steel flange to the stainless runners? I've always tried to keep all my metals alike when welding, but if there is a valid reason to do so I'll take the advice for sure! ...guess I can stop searching for the mythical unicorn of SS flanges!! :woot:

+1 on the mazworx flange. It already has a transition built in to match the oval on the head side and the manifold side fits a round 1.25" Sch10 pipe. I'm not going to say copy the full race but make similar and make it fit.

That flange does look really nice, but is 1.25" a little small for the runners?? I've seen people using 1.5" and bigger

My afi manifold is 1.25 I didn't know at the time of purchase.. I figured it would have been 1.5.. I think the reason they use it is for space reasons.. I'd rather have the 1.5 primaries anything bigger is not needed.

You should look into the cast 304 stainless merges there awesome.. save you time and are decently priced..

I've got a nice RB manifold flange (1.5") and weld plate for sale. That plate is 1" thick and my manifold did not warp at all during the fabrication process.

Remember that a 1.25" sch10 pipe has an ID of 1.44" and a 1.5" sch10 ID is 1.69".
