Rb Troubleshooting

Hey whats up i was wondering if anyone could help me out with some troubleshooting.. Alright i have a RB20 i swapped it into a s13.. got all the stuff for it...so it cranks but it doesnt fire to where it will idle... i just orders a SAFC 2 since i have a z32 maf cus alot of people were telling me that the stock rb ecu doesnt read the maf upgrade.. people also told me to unplug the maf and it should idle.. i tried that but it still is just crankin.. i checked the coilpacks and the fuel pump and there workin... i have no idea what else to check.. all i want to do is hear my car run... ive had my car for about a year now... and its been in project mode for at least 8 months...ive had a couple mechanics look at it and seems like they dont know what to do.. also took it to a tuner shop and they let it sit for almost 2 months with out touchin it(then they ended up gettin robbed) ....but i mean i just wanna get it runnin so i can keep up since everyone in my town is goin turbo now.. haha if you have any idea that might be wrong with it please help me out.. did you check all of the fuel pump plugs

Everyone telling you about the z32 MAF is right, it will not just plug in and work with a stock ecu. Unplugging it should let the engine start in safe mode though...

You said you checked the coilpacks and the fuel pump? If you're getting spark from all the coilpacks... AND the plugs are all wet with fuel... It's most likely not starting because your timing is out of whack. Get a timing gun and adjust the CAS per the FSM.

Does the ECU report any codes? Also what engine parts did you replace/upgrade before the swap?

You tried starting it with starter fluid? You cant just start a engine thats been sitting for 12+ years. Same thing happened to me. I had to use starter fluid to get everything going. Let it relearn itself!!! lol.

ok so i got it to run for a lil bit by using the starter fluid... but then my turbo started spittin out oil... tried to pull it off.. but its dark so really couldnt get it off.. what the hell could that be.. should i just upgrade my turbo?!?!any suggestion..

things to check, Fuel pressure,fuel lines hooked-up right (problem in about 70% of the cases) dirty injector will not pass fuel.....wiring for injectors...

well i got it to start... my problem now is that its spittin out oil from my turbo...anyone have a slighty used stock turbo for sale?

Told ya it would work. How much oil is coming out? If alot then most likely the turbo is no good.

haha i was happy to hear it run...but it was quite a bit.. just like spittin it out and then i took off the cold side to check the fins and they spin freely but like it was just oiled up.. i guess its the seals in it.. but tryin to find one so i can get it out on the weekend

Yea probably seals are no good most likely. Im not a turbo expert but it sounds like it.

Anyways you can pick up a RB20 turbo cheap or I can sell you my RB25 turbo since I'll be upgrading soon.

haha thats why im tryin to get it started.. im not messin with it i just wanna drive it so i can see if there are any bugs and what not.. im gonna put some miles on it before i start foolin with it... but its been sitting just wanna drive it again
