ok the other day i was pulling out of the parking lot at work and my car started to make a high squeeling noise and then sputtered, and then sadly died. when i tried to start it back up there was a chattering noise coming from the engine. i tried again and the motor wouldnt turn over.

i pulled the timing belt cover off yesterday after work and saw that the idler pulley snaped off from the bolt! do you think i may have just F***** up my valves? im new to nissans so if theres any way i can tell without ripping the head off please let me know.

You just trashed your valves. You shouldnt have tried starting it again

it depends on the level of damage; you may have to replace the pistons too. talk to a machine shop for an estimate of the repair cost.

you dont know the extent of the damage till you pull the head.

did full race touch the timing belt at all? i know if the wrong bolt is used on the tensioner it will shear VERY shortly after the car begins driving (within a few weeks)

ya same thing happened to me when i was pulling out oof a parking lot and the tensioner broke loose, and ya it bent all my intake valves (no exhaust though ) so i just took the head off. i couldn't find any valves anywhere so i just bought a new head for like 300. i ported both heads and just built one to put on my rb, if you need anything short of exhaust valves i have it so just e mail me... [email protected] oh it sucks i know cause it was as soon as my swap was done and running right.

the classifieds thread, ya just let me know i'll sell you that ported head for cheap. (thats if you can find intake valves) it'd be great if it was your exhaust only, but ya i hardly doubt that

If i was you, i'd be asking full race for a new RB25DET for a new long block right about now. Not posting on these forums. Im more than sure they can afford with those over priced manifolds they make.

yea i would deffinitly take it back to full race and they might warranty it if the swap was done recently. that sucks though two of my freinds had the same thing happend to there rb20det and rb25det. sucks that the rb's are interfearance motors, unlike toyota i believe majority of there motors are non-interfearance motors.

ive had to deal with bending all buy 2 of my valves with a tensioner issue, not cheap to fix, and put a lot of down time on my car. luckily the pistons werent hurt. but definitely go check with full race. id guess your pistons are ok if you were just pulling out of a parking lot. mine died as i was turning from a stoplight.

Its on Full Race, they installed the belt adjusted tension, they must have done something wrong. I wouldn't settle for anything but them paying for all the work and all the parts

Yeah you should be calling up Full Race. Its obvious that the core of the problem came from their work.
