Hey guys, I was wondering what the info is on the tach link in the S13 RB swap info. It doesnt take me to the wiring. I have traced the wires, and am sure the car I am working on has a dash harness problem. but I'd like to see that link first. I hate to ask this again, but if someone has the wiring layout, I can double check. Thanks!

I have it in my head. Pin #7 of RB ECU (Yellow/Lavender wire) to 89-90 white plug or 91+ brown plug Yellow with Red Tracer wire. I hooked it up mine doesn't work either for some reason. I know another guy who has a Series I S13 and has the same exactly problem, I'm gonna go buy the LS auto gauges and see if they move the tach cuz mine won't respond AT ALL.-Alex

I finally got my tach wired on my s14 with rb20det. Forget about the whole pinout 7 thing, mine didnt work either. take out your cluster and connect back there. I had a wiring diagram and the wire on the back of the cluster that should have worked didnt, so i just tested every one until i found the wire that worked. my wire was Blue with black stripe. Works perfect.

You sure? I know another guy that had the same problem... You think the color will be different for a S13?

Thats what I figured. I already tested those wires (blue/black strip for coolant and yellow/red stripe - tach) and nothing worked. I figured I'd need to wire directly into the rear of the cluster. Thanks guys! Oh, and if you need to use the speedsensor, it mounts directly into the transmission. You'll need to add a power and ground and run the signal wire to the speedo in the cluster for it to work. Newer cars have whats called a Unified Meter, meaning that all the processes for ABS, VDC and Pre-Crash logic pass through there. They are little computers basically. Most of you guys wont need to worry about it, but if anyone has a G35, 350Z or any of the 2002 or newer cars, you have it. Thanks all!

No No No, use the KA modified lower harness and everything works. Just need to wire in the tach and temp and youre done. Search I made a write up about it.-Alex
