Alright, I am debating what swap to go with...I am pretty set on not doing an SR swap, due to the fact that everyone and there brother has one. My decision is either the CA-t or RB20T. I am leaning towards the RB. Not as common as the SR swap, and better all around motor, I think. Although an FJ20 would be killer, but that is beyond my Reach. I am mechanically inclined, and have a plethora of tools and adequate garage workspace. I am relatively new to water pumpers, I am a Porsche guy (914 autoxer...). Anyways, first off, this is my list of needed parts. What am I missing?

Motor, transmission, engine harness and computer.

R32 crossmember

Stock downpipe (where can I find an aftermarket downpipe if it doesnt fit?)

Electric fans (easy..)

custom throttle bracket... (easy 15 min fab with some rod and a grinder..)

gauge swap...What kind of gauge swap? R32, 180sx? Or can I just get a small autometer 3 inch for cheap, and make that work?

Intercooler...What fits? Does the smic from the R32 fit in the 240? Will a SMIC from a silvia work? If not, what is a good quality complete FMIC kit for this conversion?

Late model power steering lines...I have a 90 Sohc right now....(easy fix..)

Questions on the fitment:

What problems have you ran into with the front swaybar...I plan on running a Whiteline sway bar on the front...Do aftermarket ones sit lower than factory? Regardless of aftermarket or not, what have you done to make yours work?

Standard 240 engine mounts work if I have the r32 transmission crossmember, correct?

How did you set up your intake, what have you guys used?

Thats about it, question wise, sorry about writing a novel, just wanted to unload all my questions. Thanx, and no flaming please if I am incorrect about anything. And yes I have searched and read about 15 posts on this swap here on nico already. I just wanted you guys to help me with what I have gathered on this swap. Ciao~

Theres 2 options for your motor.

1. Get a clip and use the r32 X-member.

2. Get a motorset and buy aftermarket mounts.

If you can get a Suby motor into a 914 then this swap will no problem. You will probably have to make a custom down pipe (good excuse to get that tig welder) the inter cooler----wide open here--you can MAKE a skyline fit, you can get a sr20det but you have the bypass to deal with. The Chinese have made front mounts cheap--this is what I did. You can wire your current gage cluster (just have to modify it a bit) what chassis is it going into? Intake can be as custom or junkyard as you want to get. Hope this answers some of your questions.

BTW how did you do the cooling on the 914? did you run coolant lines to the front? what motor did you use (turbo?)

You're going to want to use the Skyline engine mounts with the crossmember, don't use the stock 240's.
