rb25det,, quicker and less work isnt always the best idea when getting into something like swapping a new motor unless you've done it a couple times,, or witnessed it, goodluck, hopefully you know someone with a welding shop and garage.

I love the look of the syko kit..and well any rb swap is difficult to a degree so theres no technically 'easier" road.

Have you watched this clip?http://youtube.com/watch?v=kRU7HSMXfU8

Also, the complete Syko kit was featured in our DVDRB25DET Swap DVDhttp://store.driftingshop.com/rb24sdv.html

i'd go with the syko mounts over mckinney any day of the week. i just like them better because they use the factory r33 crossmember which will be a lot more rigid than the way that mckinney chooses to mount the motor. granted, i've never heard of anyone having problems with mckinney mounts, just prefer to use modified/relocated factory parts over aftermarket.

SYKO Kit, don't waste your time screwing with anything else. Sure I'm biased cause I have it, but I'm also biased whenever someone looks into my engine bay and says "damn man, that s#!t's clean!". And from a functionality standpoint, you got 2 mounts in 1, a solid mount under load and an insulated mount under normal driving. And you know how the downpipe slips right by your drive shaft and normally you'd be sweating the potential binding issues? They don't exist with this kit. Add the fact that it uses a stock R33 crossmember and positions the mounts directly below the major load of the engine, you got a tried, true, and bulletproof solution to your swap.

ive used all methods of mounting and i personaly use the r32 xmember on my car for rigidty reasons.syko mounts rank high because they retain the stock xmember with mckiney at a close second and tophat not even being considered.

If I was able to find a r32 xmember I would have done it that way but, that what I planned but I couldnt find one if my life depended on it at the time, I have top hat mounts and I am happy with them.

the one problem i have with my top hat mounts are that the isolators are just plain down crap, also the motor doesn't set right due to on isolator being streched down. so eventually I will either find some custom isolators, or make some. or if anyone has experience with just reusing the stock ones, which seem to the same thickness as the ones tophat provides.

Top Hat mounts remind me of almost direct copies of Unstable Hybrid's mounts... which only guys who've been around for a really long time will remember those more than likely. Objectzero (also a really old member) had those on his S14.5 with my old RB20... after daily use those fractured after about 2 months.

I've used R32 X-member and custom mounts that I made... and I've been around those UH units...

My ranking of whats out there now:- Custom built with someone who knows something about physics- R3x X-member tied with the syko mounts (they look ok haven't not dealt with them in person)- Don't do the swap

I really don't like the way a lot of these companies handle the cantilever (think diving board) when making their mounts. My channel cantilever is an integrated part of the stock KA crossmember with a calculated deflection of .0001" under a static load. That is b/c mine is channeled (channels are welded into the X-member) and built out of 1/4" stock vs. I see a lot of "kits" are 1/8"-1/4" bar stock with a bump stop that CAN touch off the crossmember and the unit is bolted. Bolting isn't bad, but the design... to me... is flawed. I have some revisions I want to do to my setup, but in general the idea works very well. Unfortunately I'm still working on my house... so no time for cars at the moment.

That's my rant... take it for what it's worth. I think I've said this a few times before anyway.

Ruckusracing mounts! similar to Tophat but a lot nicer, thicker, and better set up and offer custom colors if you want them.

not necessarily, the r33 crossmember can be had from companies such as jhot imports and other importers. just have to call them and they have, on average, around 5-10 units in stock

I've done 3 RB swaps 1 25, and 2 20's into 3 S13's recently, , and helped with another 20 into a S13 all using the Ruckus Racing mounts, with Megan Racing Isolators ( major plus, uses the stock isolators ), hands down, the best mount kit I have ever used for the money, metal is thicker than Top Hats, alot, the lowers remond me of McKinneys, nice and strong, real thick too. I say Ruckus.

R32 x-member and solid aluminum mounts best way IMO, everyone else shut up.

But seriously RB forum is full of the same thread with 40 different titles, do some searching.

Ditto. Very heavy duty and im using stock Nismo isolators. Everyone overreacts on mounts. All you need to do is relocate your isolators and compensate for the increased loads of our new drivetrains. Only other thing I would do is custom mounts, but who has the time for that.
