RB swap In s13

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Hey Im dropping in my rb in my s13 but its not fittin on the driveshaft properly. so its restricting the engine from sitting on the mounts. does anyone know anything about why this is happeneing?

Was the car an automatic and you're putting in a 5 speed?

nah it was a 5speed and im puttin a 5speed back in it..

unbolt the center carrier of the driveshaft

install the engine/trans

then wiggle the driveshaft into the transmission.

Did you either trim the dust sheild on the transmission, or remove it?

either trim or remove this yellow dust cover

when I did my RB20 i removed it! thats should be the problem.

the trim is off it wasnt on when i bought it.. but its being a pain in the *** to slide on the driveshaft is the only problem ive got to.

would anyone know where i could get some in piping or did they get it custom?

Are you trying to put the driveshaft in at the same time your setting the engine on the mounts? Try setting the motor and then slip in the drive shaft. What mounts are you using/where did you get the drive shaft? the mounts will determine what is available for piping.

Check if theres any rust built up on the splines in the transmission. I had that problem with my d21 and cleaned it with a wire brush and lubed it, slid rite in, could posibly be the problem.
