RB swap Back to KA (Wiring)

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Hey guys, Can you go back to a KA24de engine? I live in Cali and you know smog here.Is the wiring changed to much? Can you just swap the the ka in and get a smog?

Shop install not me. Wish I could swap myself.

it depends on how it was wired. you might be opening the book on a nightmare.

yeah or you could look into gettin a stock KA harness for your S13/S14 and do it that way.

Stock harness would be your best bet, leave the lower harness in and pull the whole harness out with the motor. Depending on how you did your wiring (the 5-6 wires by the fuse box) you may have to repin some connectors or finagle the chassis harness somehow.

If you decide to do it I would buy your harness if it is in good working condition. It could pay for your new harness which would in turn be the easiest way to begin with

couldnt you go out of state and get registered in say NV, and then come back to cali, and have another year or so to wait before they check you???
