I had the Nismo parts rep on the phone from Performance Nissan. He said that in the US part catalog, he couldn't find a thermo that would work. The SR one won't, and I also tried the RB myself. Looks like unless you get the JDM hookup, you are SOL on a colder thermo.

I use a 158* and it works just fine. If you want anything colder, please help me understand why?

There was a CA18DET thermostat on ebay the other day (went for $78~ I think) made by ARC. Try finding an authorized distributor of ARC products http://www.mackinindustries.com/dist_arc.html and ask them. It was probably "new old stock" but you never know.

I've also gotta ask why you want a lower temp thermostat? You can already choose between 2 temps straight from the dealer.

i feel like if i can gt my thermo open before the heat build up it wont overheat at the track....

its fine on the streets, but my ka would always overheat, i just want a bomb cooling system...

i think ill just get oem for now.

if you run your oil too cold, you run the risk of wearing things out in the engine.

Nissan sells an OEM 76.5 degree thermostat. Just ask for the "hot type". But a cold thermostat isn't the key to a good cooling system. It won't matter anyway, even if the thermostat opened at 30 degrees you end temp would be the same. If you want a good cooling system, get a nice radiator and good shroud w/ either mechanical or electric fan(s).

Wait...you had pushers on the inside...so does that mean you were pushing hot air from in front of the engine onto the radiator? Oops. Well I use the stock radiator w/ the KAE shroud and the fit is pretty good. Here's a pic:
