If you cruse around some of the other forums about 240's you'll find some talk about how high and mighty the RB series engine is, however, here it doesnt even seem to be considered. Why is that?

We have a forum dedicated to the RB.

To be honest the RB series engine is often "sack-ridden" in alot of forums because it simply is what comes in the Skyline. Alot of people here simply see it as yet another choice in the game, and respect it as such.

very true

most other forums see it as a "GOD of a motor" but peopel here see it as just another possibility for power in our cars. I mean they are just as capable of power as any motor if not better but that shouldnt affect your.........ah nevermind im not gonna rant

basically poeple think since its a skyline motor your car will perform like that, in contrary NICO people seem to be more knowledgable and see that it just isnt true

Seems like the SR motor is over all a better motor when taking into account.. cost, potential, weight, reliablity, cost of matenince, after market support, easy of installation, and so on... is this pretty much accurate?? I dont see anybody offering any numbers on the RB that make it worth sacrifcing in many of the catagories I just listed.

There is no God of all Motors. Although I wonder how a 240 with an old 427 side oiler would perform

There's only one point to be made they are all Great motors because they are made by Nissan.the RB is TT CA & SR are T KA had big liters and you can add a turbo to any of them...though adding one to the RB wouldn't be wise...in many ways

i have to agree with drifter for life. NICO people seem more level headed about technical aspects.

swaps are cool regardless...the RB is just another choice like nismo_freak says. just because it comes out of the skyline doesn't make it something to dream and drool over.

depends on how many moronic people happen to be online that swear by such and such motor.

Swear by.... or swear AT?

Fords, Chevys, Nissans, Hondas. When I bust a knuckle on them, the swearing definitely starts.

If I could fit a 427 in an S chassis and I had access to the engine-- oh believe me, it would happen.

well the reason we dont rant about RBs is because we have all decided that the KA24E is the best motor ever manufactured in every way!!!!!!!! so you should definately put one in your car!!! its the only RIGHT thing to do!!!

Truer words have never been spoken. I imported a RHD 180sx from japan, took out the SR and put in a KA24E, talk about an improvement.

I want to see a Silvia with an S20 N/A Inline 6 cyl from the PGC-10 "Hakosuka" Skyline GT-R (early 70s).

Too bad the motors are like $20k!!

Believe me I know the RB comes 2.0 2.5 and 2.6, but the thing is, they're not talking about the RB20 or RB25 in those other forums. they're ranting about the 2.6

I wouldn't mind a custom RB20DETT in a 180....but that would be the same as the twin turbo SR20 wouldn't it? not really much more power...

I think the RB guys on NICO really have their stuff together. Most of them have RB20s and RB25s cause they recognize its performcance. There are a couple RB26's (Underground!).

Even the SR vs KA debate has died down with guys on here hitting 500+hp with KA's.

A twin turbo RB20 would be a bit better than an SR due to the 2 more cylinder pulses to help spool but a single is the way to go for most.

oh yeah dude, to be completely frank, the sohc has advantages over the dohc with a turbo, top feed injectors, the 90' sohc has lower compression, theyre cheaper, less moving parts that could break. so i was in no way putting down the E, i love my sohc.

but in my earlier post i was just imitating most people when it comes to talking about one motor or another like on *most* forums.
