A few pics of an intake manifold we recently did for a local RB25 powered S14. Volume is dramatically increased, and runner transitions are much more gradual vs. stock. This one uses a Q45 throttle body.

We have a few of each running in 20's, 25's, and 26's. Eikon, a moderator of the 240 vert section has had one on his RB20 for about 5 years now. Send him a pm if you want some feedback, but the before and after was pretty dramatic... that was a fun car!

If there is that much interest would it be possible to get a group buy going? Depending on the style they go for $700-$1200. The manifold pictured is $850.
How many would be interested for $700... could we get 5? If we can get 10 we could do $500.
A core set of lower runners is required. Unless of course you'd want something completely custom that is...

I would not be getting one that soon, I was just wondering. I have a custom intake mani on mine all ready. I would buy one if I was looking for a manifold though. Any numbers on it yet?

Are you looking for any OEM RB25 Manifolds? I've got one from my swap that I'm just finishing up. I've got the Greddy Mani already so I don't need this old one anymore...

As far as extras go, we can add any number of npt fittings or hose barbs, or even the IAC if you wish to keep it. As for water lines, as the stock lower section of the manifold is retained in most cases, all plumbing remains as it would stock. If you want to got with completely new lowers and flange ( say for additional injectors bosses), that's entirely possible as well.

Here are a few of the RB25 intake manifold mounted up. This was a few years back, this car has been on the road now for some time. I've contacted the owner to see if he had any recent photos.

:chuckle: are you f*** kidding me?!?!? You want $850 for a plenum welded to stock runners. That thing don't even have a throttle cable bracket welded to it.

this is an intake manifold and how it's made:

Oh, and this manifold sells for $510 and has been proven on 8 second cars making over 1000hp. I realize it's for a 4 cylinder, but the concept is the same.

No it's not. RB flanges have coolant ports in the that feed from the water pipe under the intake manifold into the head. Now when your favorite shop starts to make them with his CnC machine it's going to get expensive fast. I'm not a fan of the bread box manifold either.

The topic at hand is "RB Series Custom Intake Manifolds" Powder coating a freddy manifold counts as a custom manifold?

If you're so in love it, pay the dude $850 for it, weld a throttle cable bracket to it, and see if your car drops any time in the 1320 or picks up any power. This is an Internet car forum and when you post up something rediculously over priced, you should be ready for criticism. Don't get upset, it'll be alright. Everyone is untitled to their own opinions.

Wow.. I'm not sure how I missed this thread for so long.

If you're comparing this to one of the cheap breadbox manifold kits that people weld on to their stock manifold runners, then you're not comparing apples to apples. Those crappy manifolds have no taper from front to back to insure equal airflow to the back runners and no curve near the inlet to help smooth airflow from the TB to the bulk of the plenum.

These guys make good parts and the price is fair. How do I know?... I had one of their manifolds on my RB20 and loved it!

Still... it's a free forum.. if you wish to express your opinion, you are welcome to do so.

Now.. as for the claim that they are scammers... that is something that needs to be addressed. NICO holds our sponsors to very high standards and this issue needs to be resolved.

You have yet to give an opinion worth even a penny yet. Yes this is a internet car forum but it doesn't mean your suppose to come in and act like an childish a**. Or is that part of the lore of the internet? You post the shop that makes intake manifolds, thats good but you didn't post anything to compare against. You post 4G63 manifolds and not a RB manifold, Then when I ask you to post a better example you post a freddy manifold?? I don't need a intake manifold because I already have one. This doesn't mean I can't appreciate a good looking manifold when I see one.

Did i hurt your feelings, or did the other two guys bashing on this manifold hurt your feelings? If the op needs defending, let him defend himself.

I dont think yellow is trying to defend the op, but the thread per se. You just said the manifold is over priced garbage and posted a picture of an off-the-shelf manifold that goes for the same price. Your comments thus far have not been very constructive.

Gabe the whole discussion went over his head like a lead balloon.
