Car looks clean bud, good install. Did you say that the intake manifold was a greddy unit or custom?

Looks like you are running rich going by the puff of black smoke on the last pull. You never found out what was causing that hole? What mods did you say you had, and what does your boost look like through that pull (0-redline)?

I'll be back in Wilmington from the 19th to the 10th of Jan. Be nice to meet up sometime. If you come down to Charleston before then Hybrid would love to see your car as well I'm sure.

I've done some searching for you and this is what I've found so far. Hope it helps:

"To the best of my knowledge it is an AFM/ECU commanded timing retard that causes the flatspot/s.

On the dyno recently my cars timing was observed retarding from 24' total advance back to 15' during a big dip in the power curve (as felt on the road) this was a problem that I'd "had" @ various times in the past however Jim from Croydon AS did an awesome job of retuning my Unichip to overcome the problem completely.

Unfortunately after I fitted the adj exhaust cam gear (4' retard) this flatspot (or flatspots in my case) has returned so although I gained power (in most of the rev range!!!) I have a surging power curve.

This problem (I think???) is cause by the AFM / stock ECU combo. It seems as if it's detecting excessive airflow entering the manifold via the AFM (ie more boost due to mod's etc...) & then it spoils the party by retarding the "on boost" timing, so you loose power & then as the airflow drops back into the acceptable range it advances timing again & bang it's takes off!

It could be a partically stuffed AFM even?, but I've been in more than the odd GTS25t that has done this exact same thing & they couldn't all have partically stuffed AFM's!!!"

I've run across this same remedy a few times, so hopefully it's not much deeper than this description.
