Werd, Ive raced a couple of V6 Accords, won both times.

First guy was determined to win, kept at it for like 5 lights. Finally he rolls down his window and says he sells Honda's and that he knew my car was modified, and that I should throw that money in a Honda and see what it'll do. I laughed and said I built the car for $4000, and thats a downpayment on an Accord (which I wouldnt buy anyways). He says you could buy a wrecked one for that, to which I reply that Id put the V6 in the hatch of a CRX and make another car for $4000 :)

Turns out he was taking someone on a testdrive. Ooops.

I don't get it...accords aren't fast, even with V6...how would he even hold up with an rb25?

Nick- did you see the video? That is him trying to hold up to a 25. The second time he tried to get me he was already floored and on my rear quarter panel by the time I shifted to third he was ahead of me. Took me more time to reel him in but when I shifted to fifth, it was "bye bye".

The first part of the video he took off slow and was not really racing until he started to pass me then he got on the gas which I killed him instantly. As soon as I passed him I stopped accelerating.

Either way that sneaky bastard tried it, I killed him.

I think there might have been something done to that accord as well..

I kind of agree with Nick, in that the accord held up pretty well actually, considering from the factory they run what... a 15.9 or something?!

In any case you definately beat him :). ALso out of curiousity, in the second race what gear did you go from - too? was that 3rd to 4th to the beginning of 5th... If so, how fast were you going ?!

All I could see was exhaust. I believe I was in fourth, downed to third, side by side on fourth and fifth I pulled away.

Don't know how fast. Never look at the speedo.

I own a 90' s13, and a 94 accord. My accord is slower than the stock s13... It is because of the wieght since both are almost identical hp/torque. The v6 accords are barley, and I mean the slitest bit faster than my sohc. So Id say stock 90' s13 (ka pwred) and a v6 accord would be a good race. The decision would proabably be in the driver. So id say any sr pwred nissan would smoke the honda...

But i love my honda.. its a good grocerie getter.

v6 accords I believe are like a 15.9 or something like that. I dunno about your sohc accord doing that.

It was a late model accord with the dual exhaust stock that was changed to after markets.

I would think the newer accord have quite a bit more than 155 hp.

the V6 accords are around 240 BHP BUT they are all automatics except for the 2004+ model years. that was the first time they were offered in manuals with a V6.

ha the new 2004+ ones are... look at the video thats like a 2001 or something... which are 200hp and come ONLY in the auto.Again they are a 15.9 or something, which shouldn't have kept up with a BPU s13 rb25

I just watched that vid here at work with the volume turned down. I thought yall were out for a Sunday drive.Either you were just taking it easy on him or that was a pretty decent accord.

found my headphones :)that is sad. you pulled him the first time, let off the gas, gave him 2 or 3 car lengths, and pulled on him again. He was going the whole time. When I saw this thread's title, I thought this must be some kinda joke (or a badass Accord!).

FYI: I think 97s were the 1st year for V6 Accords. They made 170hp. The next gen (the one in the vid) made 200hp. The newest ones (03 and up) made the 240hp and now offer a manual (6spd?).

So the guy had a passenger as well, and still did pretty decent?

I don't know about the passenger. And I don't know what you consider decent. The second time around, I was cruising in fourth when he was floored passing me. I then down shifted to third and played catch-up. Unless you consider a race where one starts at a dead stop and the other gets a rolling start "fair", then that would be decent.

Sorry, I confused your story with skillzilla's. Are you running a stock RB25? You must have been cruisin at a high speed, because I figured you'd eat him up faster than that.

It is a stock 25 with a fmic. And an aftermarket o2 housing/dp hooked up to a dual n1. Other than that, stock. I was cruising in fourth (around 40-50 mph).

Right off the line he went slow and I had no clue he wanted anything. I shifted to third and he started, so I quickly got him. When I shifted to fourth I passed him already and quit. Then from behind he's floored and when I recognized this he was comming up to my rear quarter panel. By the time I shifted down to third he already passed me.

I know the video is very misleading. I'll get another video hopefully starting off the line. I actually have one with a late model jetta with a v6. (I know it's no comparison) I won't put it up though because it's very boring. You could barely see the front headlight on the bottom left corner of the screen.

Take a look and listen. The second time around you can't hear him down shift cause he was from way back there.

Come on people it was a rice fly by that didn't go so well for the guy. He lost the 1st race and wanted to go home with a win. So he tried to ambush him and go home with a win.
