ok, i did search on this- "rb-performance intercooler" returned nothing and "rb performance intercooler" returned nothing relevant.

http://rb-performance.net/inde...id=30

kit looks decent, and the price point is surprisingly nice, but of course the old adage of "you get what you pay for" always comes into play...

i was planning on using an aftermarket IC for a 7MGTE-series supra since the IC inlet/outlet are also on the same side on that car, and then doing the piping myself, but it seems likely this would end up both costing less and involving less fitment headaches-

anyone tried it? it almost looks like you'd have to get rid of the bumper support, or at least hack it up pretty hard, but right now my side-mount is hidden behind a pig-nose bumper, so i need to do something different with the intercooler, i'm sure it's heat-soaking pretty quickly right now.

looks promising, i mean as long as the piping isnt directly across each other (cheap ebay ones) it should pass through enough to be effective.

I just hope the brackets supplied are better than the ones pictured LOL

heh, yeah i did spot that too. but for $325, you know you're not getting HKS/Trust quality... and that part is hidden behind the bumper. still, the IC itself looks decent for the price, and it's actually a dual-pass, where all the ebay same-side units are single. i'm no mechanical engineer, but that seems like a plus to me.

*nod* like i said, that was the original plan but for ~$100 (shipped) for piping/couplers:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

and then another ~$220 shipped for the IC:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

you're already almost at the same price point. (maybe i could find better deals on fleabay, that's just what a couple minutes of searching got me.) i don't know what rb-performance charges for shipping yet, but what i'm getting at is that i'm thinking the slightly higher cost could be worth the saved effort of not having to cut-and-make-fit myself...

anyway, if nobody is running this hardware yet i'll report back as the guinea pig if i decide to. thanks for the input.

I have seen a few ppl run them they are good quality, not sure on the bumper support hit up [email protected] they are cool guys, but this same kit is going for 850 right now elsewhere. There is a review thread about Rb-performance and the products they carry on another forum.

Btw Im getting one for an upcoming project.

Quote »Hey with most intercooler kits i take the front bumper support out.

with my track cars i make custom bumper support to go around the intercooler kits.[/quote]
