To see if your engine is overheating, it should be pretty easy to look at the coolant level in the overflow reservoir. Also feel around...does stuff feel overly hot iniside the engine bay?
My car used to run a bit hot before I got my FMIC, but afterwards it was defintely heating up too much (although the temp gauge never showed warmer but I don't trust that thing too much). To help this I added a bottle of Redline water wetter to my coolant, replaced my stock A/C condenser fan with a Permal-cool high performance 12" type mounted as a pusher that comes on with the ignition switch. I also have a backup A/C condenser fan controlled by the stock R32 thermostat in the R32 radiator I'm using, but it's yet to come on since adding the perma-cool unit. After these additions the engine was running noticably cooler, but to help things even further I created a cold air box for my pod filter. I just got some aluminum and some insulating tape stuff (found at Home Depot...forgot exactly what it's called but it's used on ducting and hot water pipes I believe). I completely enclosed the pod filter except a hole in the bottom where dryer vent connects to a hole in the bumper to provide cold air.
This GREATLY reduced the temperature of my intake charge. Before the pod filter would be hot to the touch, now it is always very cool. It's a nice little performance booster as well as increasing reliability.
The above only applies if your engine is overheating. If it's your transmission fluid, get a transmission cooler and maybe some better fluid? What fluid are you currently using? You have changed it since you received the motor, right? Who knows what condition that stuff is in. I remember you posting before about how you were drifting and thought you burnt your transmission fluid. Surely you've replaced it since then, corrent?
