i am purchasing a rb25 soon, like in 2 days!, and i have come across different varients, ie series 1 (r32) , possibly a series 2 (r33, but it may be the same as the series one), and a neo 6 (r34), which i was told is 280hp compaired to the 240hp (?) of the series 1,2. i am new to looking into rb motors and was wondering which one was better, i know there split up among years of production and small variants. i did do a search with little help. im sorry for such a noob question, but i have come up with little info on the subject.
my main goals for the car is leaving the motor stock for a while, and in 2 years down the road shooting for around 300-350 to the wheels, but nothing serious as far as mods, not even turning up the boost. the car is going to be a daily driver, and it needs to be realiable and have decent gas milage. i have gathered that the neo has an aluminum block, and the motor as a whole is weaker, but unsure if its true. id prefer to get a neo motor, just beacuse its newer (r34, '98+ i think), but if there are "flaws" with the motor, then id like to go with the older r33 variant.
thanks in advance, dan
