I'm only somewhat familiar with the RB engines. I think that the SR20 has a forged crank and rods. I have found mixed answers as to if the RB20DET has any forged internal parts, If so what, and if any other RB engines have any forged internal parts. I heard the 26 has forged crank, rods, and pistons. If anyone knows please lets me know. Also I've read various other post around here stating that the RB20 can make 400hp on stock internals. I was curious as to how much is possible reliably, as in a daily driver expected to go 100k miles or so. Just wondered if anyone knows, your the experts

like most nissan engines the rb20 has forged crank and rods but cast pistons.ive heard of the rb20 supporting 450 whp before it was almost about to die.i imagine that with forged pistons and better rods the hp ceiling will suddenly take a huge jump up.

This is prolly a dumb question but......how much are the pistons and connecting rods for the rb20 from Tomei? I have an outdated computer and it wont let me run any language translating programs. I was also interested in getting better internals for the rb20 as well, when i get mine.

i think it would be cheaper if you send your stock piston to Ross or JE and your rod to Pauter or Crower to have them make you a set.

or go to http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003....html . thats the direct link to the tomei english web catalog.

also if you really want to get them tomei pistons are $1350 for the set and you can choose from either 2207cc or 2334cc displacements, and according to tomei if you choose the 2334cc pistons you can use rb26 con rods, which run about $2000 for a set

Yeah, but dude, you get to tell people you have Tomei pistons

For real, if you can get JE or Ross make your a$$ some custom pistons, I'd do that in a heartbeat over some $1400 Tomei parts.

yah that and the proven capabilities of the combination is a very good reason if u can afford it. which is why it will prolly be one of the last things i do.
